Friends

My date went alright. We went out to dinner then went to go play pool. I can't play pool for nothing. I understand the concept of the game, but I can't hold the stick right.

I went to my friend's daughter 1st birthday party yesterday and all I can say is thank God I don't have any kids. First of all the party was suppose to start at 4:00 pm, but she pushed it back to 5:00 pm, so know me and the fact that I run on BP Time got there at 6:00 pm, hoping that the kids were done playing and maybe eating. I just wanted to drop off my gift and eat some cake. Unfortunately it didn't turn out that way. When I got there no one was there and the food wasn't done. Let's just say that the party didn't start until 8:00 pm, so I was there with all of the bad kids running around acting crazy. Everything that I wanted to miss I was right in time for. After going through this party, I know I'm not having kids for a loooong time.

Tax Season!!!

I'm so glad it tax time. I can't wait to get my check because I want to do some serious shopping. My plan is to go to Chicago and shop and have dinner there, but I don't want to drive. Oh well......if I want to go I guess I'll have to drive, it's not that far anyway.

On the flipside.....I got my raise at work and I am happy about that because I can pay off the credit card bills and pay more on my car note. I want to buy some rental property this year so I'm trying to keep my credit A-1. I'm going on a date tomorrow with this guy I meet about 2 weeks ago. He's cute but when he opened his mouth he lost about 4 points because he had silver or platinum teeth (that's a turn-off) but I can't judge him by his teeth. I guess I'm going to watch the news now and see what's going on here in this crazy City of Milwaukee.

THINGS A SISTA SHOULD NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR

A co-worker and friend of mine sent me this in a e-mail today at work......I thought it was nice and true.

THINGS A SISTA SHOULD NEVER APOLOGIZE FOR -- STAND STRONG

1. Never apologize for pursuing what makes you happy. Even if you need to quit your job, transfer schools, or move across country, always do what you really want.

2. Never apologize for using proper English. Keeping it real doesn't mean speaking Ebonics.

3. Never apologize for giving your best in a relationship that just didn't work out.

4. Never apologize for crying. Wear waterproof mascara and express yourself.

5. Never apologize for ten pounds you need to lose. People who truly care about you will accept you as you are.

6. Never apologize for being frugal. Just because you save your money instead of blowing it on the latest fashion emergency doesn't mean you're cheap.

7. Don't apologize for being a single mom. Babies are a blessing.

8. Never apologize for treating yourself to something special. Sometimes you have to show yourself some appreciation.

9. Never apologize for leaving an abusive relationship. Your safety should always be a priority.

10. Never apologize for keeping the ring even if wedding bells won't chime.

11. Never apologize for setting high standards in a relationship. You know what you can tolerate and what simply gets on your nerves.

12. Never apologize for saying NO.

13. Never apologize for wearing a weave. You bought it so it's yours.

14. Never apologize to your new friends about old friends. There's a reason she's been your girl from day one.

15. Never apologize for ordering dessert. Or more than one dessert.

16. Never apologize for dating outside your race. Just because you found Mr. Right across the color line doesn't mean you don't love your brothas.

17. Never apologize for not knowing how to cook. Even if you can't burn like Grandma you know how to order good take out.

18. Never apologize for your taste in clothes. It's your style.

19. Never apologize for changing your mind.

20. Never apologize for making more money than your man, you work hard and you deserve to get paid.

21. Never apologize for being you! KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND KEEP MOVING FORWARD! ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GOD LOVES YOU AND HE ALWAYS HAS YOUR BACK.

Ladies, send this to all the Special Sistas in your life!

"A friend is a person who knows all about you and still loves you just the same."

Happy New Year!

Well Happy New Year...It's 2005 and time to start off fresh. I hope everyone had a nice time during the holidays. I'm glad it's a new year because I need to start off fresh with a lot of things. I didn't make any resolutions because I never really complete them, so now I'm just going to make a list of things I need to do and just do it.

Don't you hate when people complain about their situation but never do anything to try and fix it. My cousin has been depressed for sometime now. He needs a job, Baby Momma always complaining about money, and he has other problems to, but I don't feel like writing them down. I've told my cousin that he needs to go back to school and get his GED but he always has a reason as to why he can't go to school. He can't get a job because he will fail the drug test. So he just sits on his ass all day complaining and looking all sad and depressed. People have told him what he needs to do but he won't take any advice from family because he think he knows everything. With that attitude, he is going to be sad, lonely, and depressed for awhile. I give up!
